Design/Bid/Build
Design Civil Engineer: Cowen Design
Design Architect : EYP Architecture & Engineering

Cowen Design Group served as the Design Civil Engineer for the Embassy upgrades in Berlin, Germany. Compound upgrades included aligning modern security fencing and walls with historic elements, improving site access for emergency and support vehicles, and relocating the Marines residence to a retrofitted wing of the existing building.

Various utilities were upgraded in order to provide better support and redundancy for the building’s users and Marine residents. This includes re-designing the main sanitary lift station and providing a new fire protection connection to the public utility. The facility’s grounds and access control were designed to lessen the visual impact of the adjacent street on the historic building. The project also included upgrades to meet ABA access requirements.
