Cowen Design Group served as the Landscape Architect of Record for the U.S. Consulate Compound in Dubai, UAE. The U.S. Consulate Compound in Dubai, UAE was designed to be a world-class facility for a world-class city. The project included a private staff garden, outdoor recreational facilities, and a distinguished arrival experience. A custom water fountain and tributary runnels were designed to create a desert oasis for visitors and staff.

The consular garden surrounds the custom-designed water feature which draws inspiration from traditional Islamic garden ornaments. This element provides evaporative cooling, white noise, and accents the main visitor exhibition area. Water flows from the fountain into a colorfully-tiled channel that lines the walk located under tensile shade structures, and is surrounded y lush plantings to create the oasis environment. Locally-sourced materials were installed in the grand hardscape walks and patios for construction and sustainability benefits.
